Ross Merrill
President
Ross is CEO and founder of Merrill Farms LLC that originated from his multigenerational legacy of family farming in the Salinas Valley. Ross’ love for Monterey County, the Raceway, and his business leadership in the local area give him the skills and experience required to restore and revitalize the LSRA into a state-of-the-art facility that benefits the entire community.
Bruce Canepa
Vice President
Bruce owns and operates the world-renowned Canepa facility in Scotts Valley, California. He has been on the executive board of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the governing committee of the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion, and was the driving force behind the successful Porsche Rennsport events at Laguna Seca from 2011 to the present.
Jason Retterer

Jason is an attorney and partner at JRG Attorneys at Law in Salinas, CA, leading the firm’s land use and real estate law practice. He advises private property owners, land developers, builders, resorts and hotels, and public agency clients on complex real estate transactions and compliance with land use, general plan and zoning matters, and environmental laws.
Jonathan Feiber
Director
Jon has been a co-managing general partner of six venture funds over 20 years, totaling $2 billion, and has been responsible for investments in emerging technologies that returned over $1 billion. He will help ensure our business plan and CIP plan align with the funds we will bring in and assist in building the management team required to restore the LSRA.
Gordon McCall
Director
Gordon is the founder and owner/operator of McCall Motorworks Revival, the event that kicks off Monterey Car Week. He is also Director of Motorsports for the Quail Lodge and Golf Club in Carmel, Co-founder of both the Quail Motorsports Gathering and The Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel, and the Collections Development Director for The Petersen Automotive Museum.

Ned brings his expert knowledge and vast experience in the real estate development industry to Friends as we embrace the transformation of Laguna Seca into the next 50-plus years. Ned’s continuing support of Laguna Seca Raceway and contribution underscores his passion and vision for the facility and its importance to our local community and economy.
Supervisor Kate Daniels County of Monterey, District 5
Director
Kate Daniels, District 5 - Monterey County Supervisor, has a lifelong commitment to public service, environmental stewardship, and community well-being. A Carmel High alumna and Columbia graduate, she has worked as an educator, nonprofit leader, and policy maker. Kate has championed clean water, affordable housing, homelessness solutions, and sustainability initiatives, bringing collaborative leadership to strengthen Monterey County’s future.
